Job Description

Location: Miami, FL | Hybrid Schedule Employment Type: Full-Time

We are seeking a Business Process Designer to evaluate, redesign, and optimize business workflows across multiple departments. This individual will work closely with business stakeholders to identify operational inefficiencies, streamline processes, and assess opportunities to leverage automation and emerging AI technologies.

The ideal candidate combines strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex business operations into practical, scalable solutions. This role will play a key part in identifying automation opportunities, improving operational performance, and ensuring that process enhancements deliver measurable business value while maintaining appropriate controls and human oversight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process Discovery & Assessment: Partner with stakeholders to understand existing workflows, identify bottlenecks, uncover inefficiencies, and document business rules, manual activities, and decision-making processes.
  • Workflow Analysis & Design: Evaluate end-to-end processes, identify dependencies and areas for improvement, and develop current-state and future-state process maps, business requirements, and supporting documentation.
  • Automation Opportunity Identification: Assess workflows to determine which activities are best suited for traditional automation, workflow management solutions, or AI-enabled capabilities, while identifying processes that require human judgment and oversight.
  • Business Value & Performance Measurement: Develop business cases for process improvements, estimating potential cost savings, productivity gains, cycle-time reductions, and error prevention. Define performance metrics to measure results after implementation.
  • Continuous Improvement: Establish monitoring and feedback mechanisms to evaluate process effectiveness, identify emerging issues, and recommend ongoing refinements based on operational performance.
  • Strategic Planning & Prioritization: Collaborate with leadership to evaluate improvement opportunities, prioritize initiatives based on business impact and feasibility, and balance short-term efficiencies with long-term scalability.
  • Technology Alignment: Work alongside technical teams to recommend appropriate automation approaches and ensure proposed solutions integrate effectively with existing systems and business operations.
  • Change Management & Adoption: Partner with change management stakeholders to support process transitions, encourage user adoption, address concerns, and assess the effectiveness of newly implemented solutions.
  • Risk & Controls: Identify potential process weaknesses, data integrity concerns, and control gaps while ensuring proposed improvements support operational reliability and appropriate oversight.
  • Complete required training and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in business process improvement, process design, business process management, operational excellence, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience evaluating business workflows and contributing to automation or digital transformation initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of process improvement methodologies, such as Lean, Six Sigma, BPM, or similar frameworks.
  • Familiarity with AI and generative AI capabilities, robotic process automation (RPA), workflow automation, and low-code solutions.
  • Ability to evaluate business processes holistically, identify dependencies, and recommend practical, scalable improvements.
  • Experience developing process documentation, workflow diagrams, business requirements, and performance metrics.
  • Strong analytical skills, including root-cause analysis, risk identification, and assessment of operational effectiveness.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for efficiency gains and communicate the expected business value of proposed improvements.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and interviewing skills, with the ability to gather information, challenge existing practices constructively, and uncover undocumented business logic.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present recommendations to stakeholders at varying organizational levels.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adaptable and comfortable working through ambiguity and evolving business requirements.
