Introduction
Our client is a privately owned, emergency and specialty veterinary hospital seeking a full-time Emergency Veterinarian to join their team. The hospital provides care for cats and dogs, alongside some pocket pets and occasional exotic cases. Opened in 2018, the hospital is a VECCS Level I Trauma Center and has been rated as a top-growing specialty hospital, receiving referrals from five states. The state-of-the-art hospital was founded with a strong emphasis on culture and core values, with a sister urgent care facility nearby helping to provide smooth transitions in patient care.

Role Description and Responsibilities
As an Emergency Veterinarian, you will work within the hospital's ER facility, assessing and triaging incoming emergency patients, stabilizing critically ill or injured animals, performing physical examinations, developing diagnostic and treatment plans, interpreting diagnostic results, managing hospitalized patients, and communicating with pet owners. You will also collaborate with the wider emergency and specialty teams to coordinate patient care and provide effective case handovers.

Rota
The full-time schedule consists of three 10-hour shifts per week, with day, swing, and night shifts available. After hour nine of each shift, doctors stop taking new patients, providing dedicated time to complete notes and hand cases over to the incoming doctor. A block of three night shifts is worked approximately every five to six weeks, with the remainder of the schedule consisting of day and swing shifts. Doctors receive extended time off following nights to allow time to recover. Rotas are confirmed a few months in advance, giving doctors the opportunity to request specific days off and maximize the use of their PTO. The hospital is also open to discussing scheduling flexibility where needed.

Practice Details
The hospital is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days per year, including holidays. Specialty and clinical services include emergency medicine, surgery, neurology, rehabilitation, integrative medicine, internal medicine, radiology, cardiology, oncology, ophthalmology, and dermatology. The hospital was newly renovated in 2020 and offers 30,000 square feet of state-of-the-art, technology-focused facilities. It is fully equipped to support its clinical services and includes five to six operating rooms with extensive technology. Equipment includes MRI, CT, ultrasound, X-ray, and dental X-ray. All doctors also have access to ScribbleVet. Equipment is kept modern and up to date, and the hospital is open to investing in new equipment based on suggestions from its doctors.

Team
The hospital is soon to have a team of 40 DVMs across its departments, including 11 ER doctors alongside specialists covering the services offered by the hospital. Across a 24-hour period, there are typically five to six ER doctors working, with solo working possible between 3:00 am and 6:00 am. The ER team is also supported by nine to 11 dedicated technicians. • Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
