Networks Connect is conducting a search on behalf of our client, a well-established and rapidly growing manufacturer's rep in the commercial/industrial HVAC space, serving the Architectural, Engineering, Owner, and Design Build markets. With over 70 years of credibility already built in the region, they're now looking for the right person to lead their expansion into a new territory. This Outside Sales Engineer opportunity is ideal for a technically-minded sales professional who wants the rare chance to build something of their own, backed by a company that isn't starting from zero.

In this role, you will take ownership of a new territory and serve as the technical sales lead throughout the pre-sales cycle — working closely with engineers, architects, owners, and design-build teams to evaluate systems, propose solutions, and drive new business. This is more than a territory assignment: it's a chance to establish a lasting presence in a new market, with the potential to grow that presence into a branch office over time. It's a strong fit for someone who is self-directed, comfortable owning a pipeline end to end, and motivated by the opportunity to build and lead rather than simply maintain.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the technical sales lead throughout the pre-sales cycle, owning evaluations from first contact to close
• Analyze cost-benefit ratios of equipment, supplies, and service applications to identify improvement opportunities for customers
• Evaluate existing systems and propose changes to equipment, processes, or services
• Build and maintain a pipeline of customers and prospects, qualifying leads generated through marketing and sales efforts
• Research and contact key target accounts, developing new initial contacts and identifying new business opportunities in the territory
• Provide technical expertise in developing solutions, designs, and proof-of-concept work in support of sales objectives
• Identify and secure known competitive accounts, developing strategies to grow market share
• Track activity in the company database and contribute feedback to improve sales and marketing effectiveness

Qualifications:

• Sales experience in commercial or industrial HVAC space is required.
• Engineering Degree or equivalent experience is a plus
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to speak fluently in industry-specific terminology
• Self-starter capable of operating with minimal supervision while building a new territory
• Comfortable working cross-functionally with internal teams, partners, and customers
• Willingness to travel locally on a daily basis, with occasional overnight and out-of-area travel
