Diesel Technician/MechanicCompletes troubleshooting, repairs and rebuilds on engine products in a service workshop independently while coaching and developing less experienced technicians.We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution business in Portland, OR.We offer $5000 sign on bonus, relocation, competitive pay and benefits!Will make an impact in the following ways:Complete repairs on engine products in a service shopPerform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic toolsMaintain detailed records of serviced vehiclesAdhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policiesOngoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins productsMaintain own toolsIn order to be successful in this role you will need the following:Completes complex internal engine repairsPerforms complex unassisted engine overhaulsAbility to troubleshoot with limited/no support from diagnostic toolsDetailed understanding of the aftertreatment system and componentsMentor junior technicians including technical support and documentationAdditional responsibilities unique to this position:A current valid CDL is required for this role.This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free of major violations.This role is subject to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) drug and alcohol testing requirements and on going random drug and alcohol testing.This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical.This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use.Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age.Education, Licenses, Certifications: Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred) Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution Locally valid driving permit (Preferred) This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. Experience: Advanced level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products Experience providing technical advice and coaching to more junior technicians (preferred)Compensation and BenefitsBase salary rate commensurate with experience.
